Attraction Based or Social Marketing

Attraction Marketing has been going on since the onset of people getting online and connecting with each other. Essentially you are meeting and getting acquainted with others that have similar interests and then inviting or requesting their permission to send your business information. It’s similar to the old fashioned “Meet & Greet” where you shake hands and talk about the “world” before you really get down to discussing business.

Most of the time you utilize social and/or business networking sites such as Facebook , MySpace , Wowza , DirectMatches-Business and a multitude of others. The list is endless! The greatest thing about this is you DO meet some great people, the downfall is you meet a ton of others trying to do the same thing! You tend to get contacts that are pitching their wares to you because they are in desperate need of traffic themselves. This is where Network Marketers collide!

Forums don’t really seem to be any different either. You can get some responses by placing signature files at the end of your comments but many forums have become clogged with people blatantly pitching their stuff. I will say that the organic traffic from these types of sites IS highly targeted because the person is actively seeking you out - There just isn't a "ton" of this going on!

One other part of this that can be a very positive for your business is writing and submitting articles within social settings such as with Squidoo , Digg , and others.

Ezines are very popular as well. These are beneficial because others are actually searching for the information that you are writing about! They are seeking you out not you chasing after people. This can bring in some organic traffic but not hundreds a day like you want.

NOTE: Be very careful when dealing with others online in a social setting because there are dishonest, malicious people out there who just like “messing” with people. Don’t give out personal information and keep photos or you home and family out of the profiles or at a bare minimum. I know people (especially us ladies) love to show off our family photos but be very cautious about this. Keep it business oriented and that is what you will tend to attract.

Utilizing Social or Attraction based marketing resources CAN be very beneficial when done correctly and on a focused level. These are "social" sites, but can become a networkers dream as they bring "targeted, organic traffic"!
