Niche Builder!

Here you are, idea for your niche in hand (or maybe several)! So what do you do next?

Start A Business For People Build a site to assist others and you will succeed. Build a site for profit and you will fail! Remember that we are always thinking about helping others by providing services or products to educate and solve problems. Doing this sets you apart from the crowd and shows people that you care about their needs first.

Enlist The Help Of Others You can ask friends and family their honest opinions on what you are creating. You might get even more ideas or better options by enlisting their help. A word of caution though; so many people have either failed online or have seen others fail so don't be surprised if you get some negative reactions! That's alright, they are just looking out for your best interests. Being educated will prevent you from failing and enlisting the help of others shows that you value their opinion and concern.

Google Some Ideas Take a look online to see what is going on in your niche. Do you see thousands of pages regarding it or hundreds. Do you see ANY? Let's look at our example of Tennis: Google tennis, then tennis rackets, then maybe tennis facilities and "how to" videos on tennis.

Get To The Library You would be surprised how much information is still at the library that isn't on the web! When I was researching for my site, I came across several books about the niche that I am working in that had some fantastic ideas and information. You just never know what you will find!

Create An Outline I know, sounds like the old English writing course but it is a necessary step. You want to have a niche idea that is broad enough to create several web pages for but small enough that you aren't competing with large business owners (Nike would stomp you)! So, sit down with a piece of paper or with your computer and let's sart a tier of information like below:

Tennis

How To video's, Services, Resources, Blog/Forums,

See this starting to take shape? After each tier is placed you want to be able to add several additional pages under those headings.

For How To Video's, you may want to have a Kids Page, Teen Page and Adult Page.

For Services, you may want to include yourself (if you coach) along with your information. You could provide Fix It shops within your area, etc.

Break down your headings into sub-categories and write or type them all out. Then start wrighting!!! Again, this is like writing a paper only you will be transferring this information online eventually.

This process is extremely important because you do not want to create a website without having any content on it! People will come to visit, see nothing (or very little) and leave. Bad for business! If you don't think you have the time, you can ask for help on this, just make it your style by critiquing it to sound as if it is YOU talking!

Once you have several pages written about your niche in the headings, we will go to the next step by using the Research Page and finding keywords to include in our content. This will make sure that Search Engines AND People alike can find you!
