Offline Marketing Ideas
Offline Marketing & Advertising
Most online business owners forget about the “offline” world when it comes to Advertising and Marketing their business. This can be a mistake! Because many new online business owners were once Home Based business owners, there is a feeling of relief when you can stop hounding friends, family and neighbors to “buy your stuff”! What happens to many of us who have “gone online” is that we don’t “THINK” anyone wants to hear about our new business endeavor.
Of course, don’t get back into the routine of hounding and chasing – give information when asked. Offline marketing and advertising can bring much needed traffic to your site that you may have overlooked! Find out how we market our businesses “offline” below.
Traditional business cards, flyers AND newspaper ads with your business information can increase your traffic, especially if you are selling services to other businesses. Most “brick-and-mortar” owners have yet to take the leap to doing business online. Your interaction with them, along with your services can help them accomplish this. In return, most are willing to allow you to place your business ads on their websites! It’s a win, win situation if you are compatible business owners.
Many people also ignore the many email advertisements blasted at them but still look (if not briefly) at what is in the mail box. Now, this can get expensive if you are sending postcards to hundreds, even thousands of homes. If you can find several other (non-competing) business owners to combine your efforts, you can split the costs! I still do this occasionally if we have a great new product that we think would do well in the offline markets.
Think about individuals AND businesses in your area. Can you provide services or products to both? What about local charity or non-profits?
We utilize
My Power Mall
for area church organizations, charities and non-profits as well as consignment shops for their own business events and it gives us the great feeling of helping others!
Set up a class or teleconference regarding your business to your local Chamber of Commerce, PTA Groups, SBA Office, etc. Why not a retirement community? Just because people are older doesn’t mean they aren’t interested - They may just be able to teach YOU!
